Keep the location, the community, the schools — and build the home you've always wanted on the land you already own. Legacy Homes Queensland manages everything from demolition to handover.
"The smartest way to get a brand-new home is on land you already own — and in a street you already love."
A knockdown rebuild gives you a fully custom, architecturally designed new home without the cost of stamp duty, the stress of relocating or the compromise of renovating around someone else's mistakes. Legacy Homes Queensland handles every step — from the excavator to the handover key.
A knockdown rebuild isn't just a building decision — it's a financial and lifestyle decision. Here's why thousands of Southeast Queensland homeowners choose it every year.
You already own the land. A knockdown rebuild means no stamp duty on a new property purchase — saving you tens of thousands of dollars from day one.
01Stay near the schools, the parks, the neighbours and the community you love — while finally getting the home you've always wanted on the land you already own.
02A brand-new custom home in an established suburb consistently delivers strong capital growth at resale — outperforming renovations and older homes in the same street.
03Your new home is designed from scratch — tailored to your lot orientation, your family's lifestyle and your personal taste. No compromises. No one else's floor plan.
04Our fixed-price knockdown rebuild contract covers everything — demolition, approvals, asbestos removal if required, construction and handover. One price. No surprises.
05Major renovations often cost more than expected and deliver less than hoped. A knockdown rebuild gives you a guaranteed result at a known price — often for similar or lower total cost.
06Both can deliver a beautiful result — but they suit different situations. Here's an honest comparison to help you choose the right path.
Legacy Homes Queensland coordinates every single step. You have one point of contact throughout — and we never move to the next phase without your sign-off.
We visit your property, assess the existing structure, check council zoning and overlay controls (including heritage), and present a fixed-price knockdown rebuild proposal with no obligation.
Our in-house architects design your new home specifically for your lot — orientation, setbacks, lifestyle brief and style. A separate build contract is signed with a fixed price covering demolition through to handover.
We obtain the demolition permit and building approval simultaneously to minimise delays. All council submissions, engineering documentation, QBCC insurance and building permits are managed entirely by our team.
Our licensed demolition contractor safely brings down the existing structure and clears the site. If asbestos is present — common in homes built before 1990 — our team arranges licensed asbestos identification, removal and disposal in full compliance with Queensland regulations. The site is then prepared for construction.
Your new home rises from the cleared site. Concrete slab, structural framing, roof, external cladding and windows are completed — your new home reaches lock-up stage with a frame inspection passed.
Electrical, plumbing, insulation, plasterboard, cabinetry, flooring, tiling, painting and all finishes. All trades are licensed, insured and coordinated by your dedicated site manager.
Independent final inspection, certificate of occupancy issued, full walkthrough with you, all warranties and documentation provided. You receive your keys to a brand-new home on the land you've always loved.
From classic Hamptons to sharp contemporary — every style is fully customisable to your taste, your lot and your lifestyle.
Our knockdown rebuild contract covers the complete scope — from demolition through to handover — with one fixed price and no surprises.
Not all properties can be knocked down and rebuilt. In Queensland, properties listed on the Queensland Heritage Register or subject to a Local Heritage Place overlay cannot be demolished. These homes carry legal obligations to preserve their heritage character and must be managed through controlled, heritage-sensitive construction methods — not demolition.
Legacy Homes Queensland will always conduct a heritage and overlay check as the very first step of your site consultation — at no cost and with no obligation. If your property has heritage restrictions, we will provide honest advice on your options, including sensitive renovation and extension pathways.
Book a free, no-obligation site consultation. We'll assess your property, check for heritage overlays, and show you exactly what's possible — including a fixed-price indication on the day.
